Flaherty Fuel Free Draw for 2 to Old Trafford took place in Flaherty Fuel Oils depot in Ferbane at 4pm on Fri 3rd of July. The draw was witnessed by Garda Sgt Kevin Ganly. Also in attendance was Conor Flaherty and Brian Lowry (promoter). The winner of the draw is Anthony Slevin of Carrig, Birr, Co. Offaly.
Shane Lowry Irish Open Golf Champion visted Ferbane on Friday night 22nd May where hundreds were present to meet the young Clara man whose Father Brendan comes from the town and where many of his extended family live.
At an open air reception he was presented with a Ferbane GAA Jersey by David and Conor Flaherty of Flaherty Fuel the main sponsors of the club. The back of the jersey had the number minus 17 on it to celebrate his tremendous score at Baltray the previous Sunday.
